The Program and the Curriculum
The Profession of City Management.
- Over 90 percent of the alumni of the MCM program are currently employed in some aspect
of public management, with over two-thirds holding positions in urban administration.
Approximately a third of the alumni are city managers or town administrators. Other serve
as planners, financial and personnel officers, federal and state civil servants, managers
and administrative officers of non-profit and private sector organizations, and other
occupations connected with urban affairs. Given the expansion of professional management
in many areas of public administration, the prospects for graduates of the program are
excellent.
Admissions Requirements.
- An undergraduate average of 3.0 is desired for admission to the Master of City
Management program. A satisfactory score on the Graduate Record Examination ( GRE )
is also required. Two letters of recommendation, a completed application form, a personal
vita form, and essay are additional requirements. Applicants must submit transcripts of
all undergraduate work for their applications to be reviewed.
Financial Aid and Housing.
- The College of Business and the school of Graduate Studies have a limited
number of available graduate assistantships. . There is on-campus housing for married and
unmarried students on a space -available basis.
